Politics is a big business. Sa panahon ng election, dito mo makikita kung gaano karami ang pera that goes out into circulation. You will wonder how candidates generate so much money to support their candidacy. It’s really amazing!
They were willing to pay great sums of money to get that air-time even for a very few seconds to reach as many people.
AND THE WINNER IS…
Now that the election and campaigns were done, sino ang panalo? Financially speaking, it’s the TV company who was able to sell air time to run the ads who bagged most of the money.
Money spent is money invested. So how will these politician winners and losers recover their investments?
Sa mga natalo sa boto naman, they’d be spending their time accumulating funds again for the next election and make their bid again.
AND THE BIG LOSERS ARE…
But aside from the losing candidates, ang higit na talo ay ang sambayanan. While the winning candidates try to recover their expenses, we can’t expect for good projects to be carried out.
Kahit sabihin nating mayroong maibibigay ang gobyerno o ibang tao sa atin, there’s an old saying na kahit kunin lahat ng kayamanan sa mga mayayaman at paghati-hatiin sa lahat equally sa bawat mamamayan, in few months, the money will return to the same pocket where they once belong. Money is like a magnet, it lingers long to those who know how to handle it, but vanish quickly like a smoke from the hands of those who don’t know how to handle it. The difference is philosophy: while others are busy finding ways to get that money back by providing quality products and services, others are busy finding ways to spend the money away.
So what can this election give us as a lesson? Let’s play forward six years from now to picture inside our minds the results. In the meantime, I will continue to spend 10% of my income buying placements for my retirement fund. And when the next presidential elections comes, I’d be few years away from my retirement.
