We don’t give too much emphasis on the kid’s stories we heard until they happen to us in real life. First, I would like to relate to you the story, then, on the last part, I will tell you my own personal experience that has happened in exact fashion.
Once upon a time, there was a donkey. She lives a happy life, carrying her master everywhere he wants to go. She eats the green pasture all day long if the master has nowhere to go.
One day she became so bored. She ran away and made its home in the forest. She led a lazy life and grew very fat.
One day, a hare passed by and saw the donkey and said to himself that this donkey is fat. He went to the lion and told about what he saw.
The lion had hurt his leg and could not go hunting for his food. The hare said to the lion, “I will bring enough meat tomorrow for both of us, but you’ll have to do the killing.”
The lion said, “All right, good friend. You’re such a kind fellow.”
So the hare went off the forest and found the donkey and said to her: “Miss Donkey, I was sent to ask your hand in marriage.”
“By whom?” asked the donkey.
“By Mr. Lion, the king of the jungle,” the hare answered.
“Let’s go at once. This is a great offer!” exclaimed the donkey.
At the lion’s home, the hare signaled the lion that this was the promised feast.
He said to the donkey, “I must leave for a while. You stay with your husband to be.”
As soon as the hare got outside, the lion grab the donkey. They got a great fight. The donkey kicked the lion very hard and was able to escape into the forest.
When the hare returned later, he asked the lion: “Have you got it?”
“I did not,” said the lion. “She kicked me and ran away.
“Oh well,” remarked the hare. “Don’t worry, I will bring her back again later on.
After few days passed, the lion’s leg got better. The hare asked: “Shall I bring you your meat?”
The lion growled: “Bring it to me. I’ll tear her into pieces!”
And so the hare went off again to the donkey. The hare said to the donkey: You are invited to call again and see your admirer.”
“Oh my!” cried the donkey. “I’m afraid to go near him. He scratched me pretty bad.”
“Ah, that’s nothing!” said the hare. “That’s his way of caressing.”
“Oh, well,” said the donkey, “let’s go then.”
Soon as the lion caught sight of the donkey, he sprang upon her and cut her into pieces.
So what can we learn from this story? We have to realize that the donkey fell on the same trick twice, putting her life into her tragic destruction.
The true to life story
As I mentioned on my book “On the Road to Financial Recovery,” I was introduced to Multi-Level Marketing or Network Marketing. Even now, I am convinced that this method of marketing is the best way for small earners like you and me to gain their financial freedom. If you can only find a strong company, you’d be able to build a source of residual income.
The Good CEO
The company I joined has a CEO was said to be of good reputation and experience in MLM in the Philippines. I was able to build a good team and was getting results. I made a great investment on this project. But then, the investors of the company changed some policies. Members were furious and some went out and build their company offering the same products and services. I don’t know much of the story, but the company elected a new CEO.
After the disaster, this same CEO started a new company offering services of cash back rewards. I was approached to join again this new company. At the start, the service was good. So convinced that this time it will really work, I invested again a good amount of money. I made reinvestments of all the earnings in order to make my money work for me. Unfortunately, the company failed miserably. All earnings were stuck and no way to withdraw. Once again, it’s another big blow on my already growing financial problem.
After many months of promises that the program will be back, it seems that the same CEO is building another company. There was a rumor that the accounts from the first company I joined and the second company can be consolidated or will be granted free accounts during the initial launch.
Upon reading the story about the donkey, I know that was me. Now, I am once again being invited to join. Should I fall again the third time or fold the card, take my losses and move on?
Sometimes, it’s very good as well if you fail down-to-earth. You will realize your mistakes and learn a lot from them. For me, I hope it won’t be too late. May the remaining years of my life, I’d learn how to be contented of what I have.
Hope you enjoyed reading this two-in-one story.
Before I close, may I ask you: “have you been in the same situation like the donkey?”
That’s it for now! Until next…
