Today is another significant day for my financial recovery. We received the approval of our loan for our project to finance the purchase of our apartment. Finally!
If you remember from my book On The Way To Financial Recovery I published on Kindle, I mentioned that I gave up this project and planned to help my children when they are going to purchase their own apartments.
The will of fire burning
Last July 2, 2016, brother Magno Carreon suggested to me to visit a certain Mr. Ouchen of CAFPI Saint-Denis to ask for a simulation for an apartment loan. I followed his suggestion, and on that same day, we visited Mr. Ouchen’s office. I received a simulation of EUR 230,000 and he directed us to visit a sales office for an ongoing project. He told us that if we were able to chose a unit, we return to him to finalize the application. He said that applying for a loan should not take long. If fast enough, we can have the approval within 15 days.
I thought it was only for fun and to simply have experience of visiting new housing projects. But when my family and I visited two projects, my desire to pursue the project was again awaken. That’s when I wrote the article My Will of Fire and let the power of attraction to play with me. And since then, I promised not to stop until I can get a bank loan to finance my project. It may not be that easy, but at least I will give it a shot.
The next weekend, we visited a new apartment which is ready for occupancy. Unfortunately, my kids don’t like it. The real estate agent proposed us another one which costs EUR 250,000. The cost was higher than the simulation that was given to us. I went back to the office of Mr. Ouchen but he was on a paternal leave. He will not be back for three weeks to a month. I went to another CAFPI office in Paris. The broker who made the simulation told me that our proposed financing will not be possible. Mr. Ouchen must have made a mistake somewhere and he cannot figure out where is the problem.
Despite of that, I did not stop. My wife and I went to CAFPI Argenteuil and she was able to make a simulation up to EUR 250,000.
We returned to the developer and we made a pre-reservation to the unit. The unit will be delivered during the last quarter of 2017 to first quarter of 2018. We now have one prospect at hand.
As we went out from the sales office, I told my wife and kids that we’ll make a tour around the city and find some other projects. That day, we were able to visit three developers which are not far from each other. We picked one to two units to choose from each developer. But in one particular, I liked the project that is pretty well situated in a main road just right beside the city hall. The units costs EUR 220,ooo but will be delivered by the last quarter of 2018. At first, I thought I can’t wait for another year. But when I made a little calculations, I can be able to save at least EUR 20,000 if only I will wait for a year. EUR 20,000 is a big sum of money. I can’t save that in one year from my salary, but I can save that amount simply by waiting! I was able to convinced my family to go with the project just right beside the city hall building.
The family decided to go with the project that I like a lot. I called the first developer to cancel my pre-reservation. My wife and I went back to the other developer and signed our reservation and made the deposit of EUR 3,000. Now I have the reservation. The process of putting the dream into the realization has begun.
This proves that if you take action to your dream, you can start making it into reality. Only you can put your dream into the grave; that is, if you don’t do something about it. If your desire to achieve the goal is strong enough, whatever trials and difficulties, you can get through it all no matter what.
Our next step is to proceed with the final choice as to which broker we will use to finance the project.
